- Request at the DGT office the documentation obtained in the preceding steps, together with the registration application and your identity and residence documents. After reviewing all these documents, the DGT will then register the vehicle and deliver the vehicle registration certificate.
Change to Spanish Plates
If you are a resident in Spain, you will have to register your foreign-registered vehicle. Registering it is mandatory whenever the owner of the vehicle is a resident. You have a period of one month from when you become a resident to re-register your vehicle with Spanish plates.
